I'm a Kappa!!!

Hello Ladies! This past week has been crazy busy with classes starting and rush, but I am proud to say I am a KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA!!! I am so excited :D Bid day was Sunday and we got the CUTEST tshirts (ill try to post a pic later). Then we went back to the house where Sticky Finger's catering and a DJ were waiting on us. Afterwards we rented out a whole theater to see House Bunny! VERY funny movie. Monday night we had our new member meeting and our first chapter meeting. Tonight is our official pinning ceremony :) So thats been my big excitement. Classes are going ok so far, but even taking just 4 classes along with all kinds of sorority stuff and of course we can't forget FOOTBALL!!! Our first game is tomorrow and I could not be more excited!!! I'll make sure to post pictures sometime soon! Hope everything is going well with yall!!

All moved in!

Hello! Sorry for the lack of posting the last couple weeks. After that first chemistry test my class go a lot more intense, but I got a B! So now this weekend my whole focus has been moving into my new apartment!! I don't have any pictures because 1) im taking a break from packing to write this and 2) my camera is still packed away! But as soon as I find it I'll be sure to post some pictures!

This coming week I'm working a WHOLE bunch (30 hours instead of my normal 8) because I haven't been working many hours because of summer classes and I took off all of next week because I am rushing YET again! I don't know if I'm crazy or what, but after a year the desire to be in a sorority is still there. So here we go again! If you girls have any advice for me please let me know! Hope everyone has a good week!!

Just found out I got an 86 on my first chemistry test today!!! This really calls for some Lilly rewards but unfortunately I have no money :( Anyone wanting to contribute to the "Natalie getting good grades" fund, feel free!

PINK goes Garnet and Black!

When I got the email that Victoria's Secret was doing collegiate collections, I was SO excited!! Hey, any excuse to add more garnet and black to my wardrobe ;) They only have 4 pieces online, but it says there is going to be a couple more things in the store, including a blanket (which would be fabulous for those chilly night games) undies, and a stadium jacket! Things like this make me wish football season was here!!

eBay!!!

Does anyone else have a *slight* obsession with eBay? Mine seems to come in stages. I can go for months without buying or even bidding on anything, then all of sudden I find I have a bunch of packages coming my way! Between me and my mom (who has also developed a love for eBay) there's not telling how many purses, scarves, wallets, clothes, and pairs of shoes we've bought. Sometimes they're not as new as we would like, but mostly all the items we've gotten have been great!! I've never bought makeup off eBay before, and since I don't work as much because of summer classes, saving a little money on my Clinique or Bobbi Brown must haves sounds appealing. Here's a couple things I'm anxiously awaiting to fall on my doorstep!

I tried on these espadrilles when they were in the stores 2 summers ago in New York City and LOVED them! But couldn't really justify the $118 price tag. Since then I bought another pair with a different color combination and they are SO comfortable. So spending $20 including shipping was a no brainer AND they have tennis rackets on them!!

I am SOO excited about this tote arriving! This will be my first Herve Chapelier! I wanted a tote that could be used for school but wasn't too big in case I wanted to use it as a purse. The color combo isn't bad because it's not going to show a lot of dirt. And I got it for a steal at less than $20 including shipping!! I'll let you know how they look when they arrive!

Wanted

Yesterday I went with one of the girls to see 'Wanted'. I had heard the basic story-line of the movie and found it intriguing, even though I usually don't like violent movies. If you haven't heard, the basic story-line of the movie is that there is this group called the Fraternity that is made up of assassins who go around and kill people who are going to bring harm to others in the future. Maybe it's just because I don't watch this kind of movie on a regular basis, but I found myself wondering what the whole point of the movie was after seeing the ending. I don't want to give anything away, but if I was making this movie, I would have done more with the story-line. Did anyone else see the movie this weekend? Thoughts?

Another "its been forever" kinda thing...

I highly doubt anybody is still reading this thing. I thought a blog would be a good way for me to express myself, since I figured I was on the computer all the time anyways. But as it turns out college has been kicking my butt a lot harder than I had originally anticipated.

Im in the pharmacy program at USC, the kind of degree that when you tell someone, they automatically say "im sorry" or "good luck with that" I consider myself a pretty smart person, throughout high school I got all As and Bs with relatively no studying. But college it a totally different story. Its not that I've had to adjust to a totally different environment...my parents decided that since I was going to the local college that I would live at home the first year and then if my grades were ok they would find me a place. Well first semester came and went, and I managed to come out with a 3.0, the bare minimum I need in order to keep my scholarships. So I made a vow to myself that I would really apply myself 2nd semester and pull that up. But here I am, 10 days away from exams, and already know that I'm going to have to go to summer school and repeat a course if I want to keep it on track to get into Pharmacy school. I don't know really why I felt compelled to write this down here, maybe because I'm tired of hearing the parent's mantra of "we know you can do so much better than this, you just need to apply yourself" and "we're disappointed" I know I royally screwed up this semester and the 3 As that I have in other course is not gonna make up for my slacking in Chemistry. Maybe looking at this tomorrow I will have a more positive outlook, that in the long scheme of things, this will be a huge learning tool and that come the beginning of fall semester sophomore year, this will be behind me. But right now all I can think about is how I failed at something...

Ive been a bag blogger. I'll admit it. Since my last post MONTHS ago I have started college, adjusted as best as I could, and atempted to keep a job going. I love college, but the work was nothing like I was expecting. That was the biggest adjustment. In high school I got A's barely studying, and now I have to deal with the mindset that C is average when I study my butt off. But I have made some great new friends even though I live at home. The first week I rushed for a sorority, but decided not to join one my freshman year so I wouldn't be so overwhelmed. But I am so glad I went through rush (even thought it was the most tiring week of my life) because that is where I met most of the girls I hang out with now. So its all good!! :)

Football has been a pretty big part of my college life too. The first 6 games of the season were GREAT!!! Our Gamecocks were ranked number #6 in the nation! But of course if any of yall keep up with SEC football, it all went downhill from there. Even our last game looked like we were going to pull out a win against Clemson, but of course in the last seconds they won. O well, like every devoted Gamecock says, there's always next year!!

This week I'm working for a family friend at our local Holiday Market. Tonight was the opening night and I'm lovin it!! The whole feel of the room is that Christmas is just around the corner (ahh!!) and not to mention all the vendors are FABULOUS!!! I'll be doing my shopping there Saturday morning and looking forward to shopping til I drop for the first time in the LONGEST time!!!

My other job that I've had for almost 2 years is at Build-a-Bear workshop. Yes, its a cute job...for high school. If early childhood education was just college major, yea it would work out great. But sadly its not. Things got so stressful at one point that I turned in my 2 weeks notice, but my boss wanted me to stay so bad she was willing to let me work for as little as once a month. So I stayed. But I just got a call today from CVS Pharmacy and now have an interview Monday for a opening in their pharmacy. Hopefully *crosses fingers* this job will work out since pharmacy IS my major, and this would give me a legit reason to part ways from BABW.

Well I guess that its for now in a nutshell. Next week are finals so once that is overwith I'll be on here more often. I highly doubt anyone is reading this thing, but if you're out that I appreciate it!!! Everyone have a safe and happy weekend!!! :)

Summer Reading

So 3 weeks after graduation I have found myself bored outta my mind during the day. Days of our Lives can only stimulate the brain so much. So I bought a couple books and stopped by the libaray in hopes of fixing this situation.

The Prada Paradox by Julie Kenner
I've read the first 2 books in this series loved them. This 3rd installment follows the same basic plot line, where a computer game becomes real life, but the author delves more into the main character's past and background than the actual plot of trying to solve the game. By the time the game actually starts, you're halfway through the book and its almost over. Still sad to see this series end. I'm currently re-reading the 2nd one, The Manola Matrix, but I have a feeling this book was a one time read. Worth picking up at the library, not sure its worth the bookstore price.


I picked up the rest of these at the library and am anxious to read them. Later in the week my mom and I are going to Myrtle Beach so we can go shop outlets and I hope to finish at least one of these while we're there.
